inlingua Singapore : Student Pass Application ProceduresOverseas students must study at least 15 hours per week1. Overseas students do not need Student Passes for 1, 2, 3 or 4-week courses. Students studying longer than 4 weeks are required to study full-time (15 - 45 hours per week) and apply for Student Passes. 2. New Student Pass applications must be submitted at least 2 months before the course start date. You must fax / e-mail inlingua your passport, documents, photograph and forms 2 months before your course. 3. As soon as you send us your completed OSEF Overseas Student Enrolment Form, we will fax / e-mail / post an OSEF Acceptance Letter.
4. inlingua processes Student Passes for a minimal charge of S$214. This covers the following : 5. After you receive the OSEF Acceptance Letter, you should pay the first S$400 of your fees (this is not an additional cost, but part payment) and the S$214 Student Pass Handling Fee. The S$614 is not refunded if your Student Pass application is rejected. 6. Tuition Fee Insurance : After you pay the S$614 (S$400 + S$214), we will apply for tuition fee insurance for you. After you arrive, we will give you a 'Certificate of Student Insurance'. The Master Insurance Policy is available at Reception. Documents and Translations
7. All overseas students must send the following documents [Fax :(65) 6467-5483, post or courses @ inlinguaSingapore.com] : 8. Official translation of the documents (birth certificate, highest educational certificate and transcript) is required if they are not in the English language. Ask a local government official, mayor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, your embassy in Singapore, lawyer or certified translation agency to do it. 9. You must bring your original documents to Singapore for verification. (see 7.) 10. We will submit your Student Pass application to Singapore Immigration. Your Student Pass will be approved in about 4 weeks.
11. After your Student Pass is approved,
you must show your original documents to Singapore Immigration. You must
also pay a refundable Immigration Security Deposit (returned 8
weeks after you leave Singapore) to the Singapore
Government as follows : 12. A Student Pass is not required for foreign students who hold an Employment Pass, a Training Pass, a Dependent's Pass or who have Permanent Resident status.
13. If one of your parents is a Singapore Citizen or a Singapore Permanent Resident, you must send us the
following additional documents:

following additional documents: 15. Students are not allowed to work while they are holding a Student Pass. 16. There is no guarantee that your Student Pass will be approved. Social Visit Pass applications for accompanying parents may be rejected even though the child's Student Pass is approved. In the case of Student Pass rejection, we can appeal. If your application is rejected, the S$400 part payment and S$214 Student Pass Handling Fee will not be refunded. |
